There is no response at all: Nothing happens when attempting to open the software. And I hope that, if one exists, it can be conveyed in a user-friendly way so that a digital non-native like me can easily follow it. A Not Responding message may appear at the top of the application window. I'm desperately hoping that there is a fix for my problem which is as easy as that which was recommended for the Windows users on this string.
I tried to take the first step suggested by the moderator in the forum exchange of Jul 10, 2017, meant for a Windows 7 user, thinking it probably wouldn't translate to my MacOS High Sierra 10.13, and I was correct - no dice. When I tried to open a document in my OO version 4 (which I've had for a long time - not sure which level of Version 4, and unable to look that up now, as it won't let me!), I was confronted instead with a box which read as follows: The application 'OpenOffice' is not open anymore.Īttempts to open any other type of content in OO, whether images or other types of downloads, have yielded the same scary notice of refusal. A day or two ago I had what sounds like a similar experience to others on this string. I'm just a home user, and I'm not a tech wiz, but I very much depend upon access to my extensive OO files going back many years for personal and community activities.
Edit: Split from OpenOffice will not open since this is a problem on a different operating system from a new person in a solved topic.
